Seahouses VILLAGE VOICES Choir
Village Voices is a small not-for-profit community choir based in Seahouses. Our members come from Seahouses village and also from many of the surrounding villages - the Bs (Beadnell, Bamburgh, Beal, Belford) as well as Shoreston, Lucker, North Sunderland, ... and the farms in between. Our 'home' is the Methodist Church in Main Street, Seahouses.
Our up to thirty sopranos, altos, tenors and basses rehearse weekly for an hour and a half on Thursday evenings. Our main activities consist of some half-dozen concerts per year in aid of various organisations in our area - churches, community halls, R.N.L.I. and the like. With the approach of Christmas we are commonly involved in such activities as Festive Lights switch-ons and carols on a village green: cosier group performances take place in local old peoples' homes.
Join us - come along to the room attached to the back of the Methodist Church, Main Street, Seahouses, a few minutes before 7 pm almost any Thursday evening (we don't stick to school terms or anything like that). Perhaps even better - virtually all our concerts end with refreshments, providing an ideal opportunity to make your interest known to any member of the choir.
There is no audition, nor any joining fee. But members do contribute £1 per rehearsal attended.
We have our own modest website here. It includes extra contact details and some indications of the scope of our activities.
