Seahouses is ideally placed to provide access to the Farne Islands National Nature Reserve: tour-boats commute constantly! Even closer to home we have an enviable range of rocks and tidal pools, cliffs and sand dunes, needing nothing more technical than appropriate footwear.
Even on a dull day, artists and photographers keen to do close-up justice to their eider duck portraits find ideal convenient opportunities at Seahouses inner harbour.
Just a short drive further north there is the huge area of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. It comes right down to the coast road B1342 at Waren Mill just west of Bamburgh, where it is possible to view the wader area of Budle Bay.
Natural England has provided an identification chart at the parking road edge of the Reserve there.
